Membership Types
There are a variety of simple participation types of the JCP, and all interested parties are encouraged to interact with the community. Membership and participation is free; there are no fees for individuals or organizations.

How To Join
As an Advisory Member:
Your organization is a vendor, customer or user of a Java tools (e.g. IDE), frameworks or extensions.
Responsibilities and contributions include
- A desire to participate in "voice-of-the-customer" style conversations in the JTC group discussions
- Periodic, nonbinding opinion polling on various JSR topics and reviews (only one designated representative from your organization may vote an any given topic).
To join, you need to nominate at least one individual to be the primary contact/participant from your organization; other employees are welcome to participate. Send your request with the primary contact name, email and phone number to jtc-advisor-request@lists.javatools.org
As a General Member:

- Willingness to commit to leading at least one Steering Committee task.
